Updates to CET Training Certification

The Certified Environmental, Safety and Health Trainer's (CET) requirements have changed and its name will be updated. Beginning May 23, 2019, the CET requires: 135 hours of teaching, training, or development in any SH&E specialty. Passing the CET examination. Removing the qualified credential requirement eliminates a barrier that is preventing many qualified candidates from attempting the exam.

Formulas Now Embedded in BCSP Examinations

The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) is now providing necessary formulas by embedding them within its examinations. This feature is currently in place for the ASP and CSP examinations and will soon apply to all certification examinations that require a formula to calculate the correct answer. Formula reference sheets are no longer needed, so they will not be provided by BCSP.

General Effective Date: February 3, 2020 Faculty of Qualified Academic Programs (QAP) and Qualified Equivalent Programs (QEP) may waive the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) exam fees (one [1] time per certification) in the first six (6) months following publication of their program's becoming a QAP or QEP.
